Biography

Tim Devitt, Psy.D., MS.Ed., LCPC, CADC is a licensed clinical professional counselor and certified alcohol and drug counselor in private practice.  He has a Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology and a Masters degree in Counseling from the University of Dayton.  He has committed the past 30 years to the study, research, and practice of therapy for people experiencing mental health and substance use problems.

In addition to his private practice work, he holds the position of Vice President of Clinical Operations at Thresholds, one of the largest recovery services organizations in Illinois, where he provides senior leadership to an array of substance use treatment and mental health recovery programs.  Also, Dr. Devitt has served as a clinician and co-investigator for mental health and substance use treatment research studies affiliated with Thresholds and the Dartmouth Psychiatric Research Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire.  In addition, Dr. Devitt is a lecturer at the University of Chicago, School of Social Services Administration, a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers, and a board member for Serenity Academy of Chicago, a start-up recovery high school scheduled to open in the Fall 2018.
